Gama - Gabinete de Investigação de Acidentes Marítimos
O Decreto-Lei n.º 75/2024 de 22 de outubro, transfere as atribuições, em sede de meteorologia aeronáutica, do Gabinete de Investigação de Acidentes Marítimos e da Autoridade para a Meteorologia Aeronáutica para a Autoridade Nacional de Aviação Civil.
Em consequência, procede igualmente à primeira alteração do Decreto-Lei n.º 236/2015, de 14 de outubro, que criou o Gabinete de Investigação de Acidentes Marítimos e da Autoridade para a Meteorologia Aeronáutica, por forma que o GAMA fique apenas com atribuições respeitantes à investigação de Acidentes Marítimos, o qual passa a designar-se Gabinete de Investigação de Acidentes Marítimos (GAMA).
Conforme estipulado no artigo 5.º do Decreto-Lei n.º 236/2015, de 14 de outubro, o GAMA tem como missão, enquanto órgão de investigação de acidentes no setor do transporte marítimo, investigar os acidentes e incidentes marítimos, com a maior eficácia e rapidez possível, visando identificar as respetivas causas, elaborar e divulgar os correspondentes relatórios e emitir recomendações em matéria de segurança marítima que visem reduzir a sinistralidade marítima.

Gama - Marine Accident Investigation Office
Decree-Law No. 75/2024 of 22 October transfers the attributions, in terms of aeronautical meteorology, of the Office for the Investigation of Maritime Accidents and the Authority for Aeronautical Meteorology to the National Civil Aviation Authority.
As a result, it also proceeds with the first amendment of Decree-Law no. 236/2015, of 14 October, which created the Office for the Investigation of Maritime Accidents and the Authority for Aeronautical Meteorology, so that GAMA is only responsible for the investigation of Maritime Accidents, which is now called the Office for the Investigation of Maritime Accidents (GAMA).
As stipulated in article 5 of Decree-Law no. 236/2015, of 14 October, GAMA's mission, as a body for investigating accidents in the maritime transport sector, is to investigate maritime accidents and incidents, as effectively and quickly as possible, with a view to identifying the respective causes, preparing and disseminating the corresponding reports and issuing recommendations in the field of maritime safety aimed at reducing maritime accidents.
